Permanent Resident Pathways
Express Entry
Express Entry (EE) is an online immigration application system. It allows people to submit a profile and be considered as a skilled immigrant. The top-ranking candidates are invited to apply for permanent residency. It is important to note that Express Entry is a procedure, not a program.
How does Express Entry work?
- If you complete an Express Entry profile, your application will be ranked using a points system. You must apply for Express Entry through one of the following economic classes.
- You will be invited to apply for permanent residence as a skilled immigrant if you are highly ranked
- Once you have applied, your PR application will then be processed within the IRCC delays.
Important: Quebec does not use express entry. For more information, click here.
As mentioned above, you must apply for Express Entry through one of these economic classes.
